ABOUT THE ROLE
Lucerno Policy Insights is expanding its analytical capacity and requires a Policy Manager to bridge operational leadership and intellectual quality assurance. As Policy Manager, you will manage the day-to-day running of the LPI branch, coordinating analysts, shaping the research agenda, and ensuring publications meet Lucerno\\\'s professional standards before they reach the Policy Director and CCO for final approval. This role is for someone who has moved beyond analyst work and is ready to manage others, develop research programmes, and take ownership of a branch\\\'s output.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the LPI analyst team by assigning topics, setting deadlines, providing editorial feedback, and tracking progress
• Develop and maintain LPI\\\'s forward research agenda in coordination with the Policy Director
• Conduct first-line quality review of all analyst drafts before escalation to the Policy Director
• Identify policy developments, emerging debates, and gaps in the market that LPI should address
• Represent LPI in cross-functional executive meetings, reporting on branch progress and capacity
• Support the Policy Director in scoping pro-bono and eventual paid policy consultancy engagements
• Mentor analysts on research methodology, professional writing, and career development
• Contribute original policy analysis as a senior author where LPI requires expert-level output
ABOUT YOU
• 2–5 years of experience in policy research, public affairs, government, NGO, or consultancy work
• Proven ability to manage and develop junior researchers or analysts
• Excellent policy writing and editing skills. You can improve others\\\' work while coaching them on why and how
• Strong working knowledge of at least one substantive policy domain
• Comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a remote, early-stage environment
• Collaborative and professional in all communications
DESIRABLE (NOT REQUIRED)
• Stuyding a degree or equivalent in public policy, politics, international relations, or law (Or equivalent experience or passion/interest)
• Experience managing or contributing to a think tank publication programme
• Fluency in a second European language
• Knowledge of EU policy processes, UK regulatory frameworks, or international governance institutions
